I am so excited to finally showcase a project that I have been working on for months. I had this picture in my head of turning the studio into an outdoor enchanted wonderland, floral swing and all! Never having a location to hang such a giant prop outdoors, and relying on weather made this dream even more enticing!
Everything in this set completely made by the hands of yours truly. The backdrop was a photo I took in Maui, and with a few tweaks (and by few I mean HOURS) in Photoshop, it was finally a magical, sunlit masterpiece. The swing was another feat of engineering that took on a whole new dynamic when I knew it had to support at least 150+ lbs for my own peace of mind! One of the most important aspects of the session was lighting. With years of studio photography under my belt, I still had never created a realistic, golden backlit sun with strobe lights…until now.
I love a challenge, and I love a blank canvas that I can turn into a dreamy little portrait session – one that is so unique that it can never be replicated again.
I will soon post a “behind the scenes” blog with details of how the set came to life! For now, enjoy these preview portraits of my niece, Lucy and daughter, Delaney
